The team: The Travel, Security and General Services Section (ACP/TSG) of the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA) manages the Bank’s Corporate Security Program at Headquarters (HQ) and Country Offices (COF), the Corporate Travel Program, and ensures the provision of Corporate Services.

Corporate Security manages the IDB Group Corporate Security Program for Headquarters, 27 Country Offices, and the three offices in Europe and Asia. The Program includes: the planning, implementation and management of corporate security services; oversight of our Organizational Resilience Program, which includes Crisis Management, Business Continuity (CM/BC), and Disaster Recovery; and the development and implementation of security regulations, procedures, and programs; as well as the management of vendor contracts and budget. 

What you’ll do:  

Organizational Resilience Management

  • As part of a two-person team, you will maintain, advance and promote the Organizational Resilience Management Program.
  • Make recommendations and update associated regulations, procedures, plans and systems revisions.
  • Coordinate business impact analyses of the IDB Group every two years and risk assessments every three years or as required, and assist with preparing terms of reference and participate in vendor selection.
  • Implement corrective measures identified in the above exercises and prepare presentations with findings for BDA management.
  • Organize annual training of Functional Area Business Continuity Liaisons and provide ad-hoc training for liaisons to assist with preparing/updating Business Continuity Plans.
  • Prepare updates/presentations on emergency and crisis situations for dissemination to management and/or the Crisis Management Team (CMT).
  • Update the HQS Crisis Management Plan as needed.
  • Assist with organizing and carrying out an annual business continuity/crisis management tabletop exercise, including the development of scenarios, terms of reference and vendor selection. Assist with identifying and presenting lessons learned to BDA management, along with an action plan.
  • Maintain business continuity dashboard and metrics, ensuring BC plans are updated annually, conducting quality assurance reviews of BC plans as needed, as well as  presenting results to IDB Group focal points.
  • Develop terms of reference for business continuity services and technology services. 
  • Organize annual BCI Business Continuity Awareness Week event(s).  
  • Update the Corporate Security Business Continuity Plan on an annual basis or as needed.
  • Conduct research and analyses of business continuity issues, identification of best practices, and recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Corporate Security

  • Coordinate the organization and execution of the annual emergency drills at Headquarters; organize the wardens/floor representatives’ groups and provide training and briefings to them and HQS population in advance of exercises. 
  • Cooperate in the development of training material/presentations/modules in preparation for HQS emergency drills.
  • Cooperate in the development and implementation of the Bank's security regulations, procedures and guidelines based on changing security issues and state-of-the-art practices. 
  • Responsible for covering large events/VIP visits to HQS. 
  • Participate in the coordination of the Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention Program.
  • Support the Corporate Security Program with research and analyses of security issues/trends, and recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support contract management by meeting with vendors on daily basis and participating in monthly and quarterly vendor meetings.  


What you will need:


You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Resilience Management, Risk Management, Corporate Security, or related areas;  Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
    • CPP, BCI or DRI or similar certification is a plus.


    • At least 6 years of proven experience related to the key responsibilities of the position, with experience in Latin America and the Caribbean in Corporate Security, Business Continuity, Emergency Response, Organizational Resilience Management.
    • Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, and presentations tools.
    • Proficient in the use of Business Continuity software, such as Assurance, Fusion.

Languages:  You are fluent (oral and written) in English and Spanish. Knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
